Asturfeito Launches New Semi-Automatic Welding with Tubular Wire Course

31.10.24 – In collaboration with the Avilés City Council, Femetal, and Mibalfe, the 190-hour specialized training aims to enhance employability in the metal sector, with a 40% hiring commitment for qualifying participants.

Asturfeito is proud to announce the launch of the Semi-Automatic Welding with Tubular Wire course, a specialized training program in partnership with the Avilés City Council, Mibalfe, and Femetal. This initiative is designed to boost employability in the metal sector and meet the demand for skilled professionals in the region.

The official course inauguration took place at the “Europa” Employment Center, where Avilés Councilor for Training and Employment, Juan Carlos Guerrero, along with representatives from Mibalfe, Femetal, and other entities, welcomed the ten participants. The course, part of the “Avilés Innova” social agreement, is aimed primarily at unemployed individuals in the area.

The program includes 190 hours of training, covering topics such as workplace safety, crane operation, semi-automatic welding principles, and MAG procedures. Theory sessions will be held at the “Europa” Employment Center, while practical training takes place at our Asturfeito Welding School. At the end of the course, 40% of participants who achieve a “qualified” status will have employment opportunities, reinforcing our commitment to supporting local employability.

With this initiative, Asturfeito continues to contribute to a specialized and competitive metal sector. We extend our thanks to all participating institutions for their support in strengthening public-private collaboration in Avilés.
